Event Code | NQTS/13/300 |
||||
Event type | Course / Network Meeting
Event Description | This is an essential session for an NQT in any phase and their Induction tutor (mentor) to find out all about Induction: what it is, what to do, when to do it and how to be proactive in organising NQT Induction to be effective for the NQT and the school. We will consider the statutory requirements of induction, professional responsibilities, expectations and good practice. NQTs are strongly advised to attend with their mentor (who can attend at no extra cost) in order that mentors also hear the key messages and can discuss these with the NQT. NQTs and induction tutors need to both book onto this session.
Aims | • To understand the statutory procedures and responsibilities of the NQT, Induction tutor, school and Appropriate Body (often the local authority) for NQT Induction • To be up to date with the new induction arrangements and teacher standards • To know how to be proactive in organising NQT Induction to be most effective for both NQT and induction tutor (mentor) • To understand the support mechanisms available nationally, in local networks and individual schools |
