SAS - Meeting Age Related Expectations for Reading in Year 6 - (Stroud Association Schools Only)*

Event Code LIT/21/363
Event type Course / Online Training
Event Description

This course is for Stroud Association schools only.

Year 6 is always a challenging year, possibly never more so than after the disrupted learning of the last two years. STA have confirmed that statutory assessment will return in 2022, meaning that a clear understanding of expectations and how to address these will be essential.

As such, this course will examine the Year 6 reading expectations in detail. The session will explore the key skills needed to reach the expected standard and strategies for teaching reading effectively, as well as considering learning from previous reading SATs papers.  Throughout the session, there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and engage in discussion with colleagues.

The session is a must for Early Career Teachers and teachers who are new to Year 6, although feedback shows that experienced Year 6 teachers and subject leaders also find the session extremely valuable.

This is complemented by our courses on Meeting Expectations for Writing in Year 6 (code: LIT/21/274) and Greater Depth Writing in Upper KS2 (code: LIT/21/276).

Delegates will be contacted three days before the session with details of how to access the online training, which will be sent via a link to the email address on your CPD Online account. Please ensure that the email address you have registered with is correct. If it needs changing this can be done via your CPD Online account or please contact the Training Admin Team on 01454 863183.
