Teaching Assistants are one of the biggest investments we make in provision for pupils with SEN and they provide a wide range of support. We will look at how we can most effectively use Teaching Assistants in our classrooms, including when 1-1 support or when delivering interventions. We will also discuss what the research tells us about effective use of TA’s.

In this course we will:

• Explore the role of the TA
• What impact can the role of the TA have for children with SEND? What does the latest research tell us?
• Effective deployment in different settings - How do we add value to what the teachers do? How can TA’s support pupils to develop independence?
• Some ideas for considering and developing the effectiveness of TA support.

There will be many opportunities to interact with the trainer and other delegates, ask questions and share ideas and examples from your own setting.
