Event Description | In this course we look at Statutory induction arrangements and teacher standards; roles and responsibilities of the Mentor/ Induction Tutor, NQT, Governing Body; Observation, feedback, professional review meetings; assessment procedures, with exemplars of good practice; Materials to support use of the teacher standards for action planning, monitoring, evidence collection and assessment; The use of the Career Entry and Development Profile or school portfolio; Avoiding and dealing with problems, extensions and reductions to induction. | ||||
Aims | • To be familiar with the teacher standards for use in NQT Induction and the new statutory induction arrangements • To gain confidence in understanding the statutory responsibilities for inducting NQTs and additional good practice • To understand the roles and responsibilities of the induction tutor (mentor), Headteacher, Governing Body, and Appropriate Body and how a mentor/ induction tutor can best support an NQT through Induction |
