SAS - A Surgery for SENCos/Class Teachers* (Stroud Association Schools Only)

Event Description

These surgeries are for Stroud Association Schools only.


Virtual Support Surgeries for SENCos or Class Teachers (each consultation in 30 minute time slots). Newly qualified teachers are especially welcome.


Sign up for a surgery slot with an SEN Advisor from Integra, to discuss and support a struggling and disengaged learner in your school or class who is not on Education and Health Care Plan.


If you:


• need the opportunity to discuss a student 
• have run out of ideas or strategies to support a child not making progress
• need support to identify barriers/needs
• reassurance/confirmation from a professional with expertise in SEN
• are new to the profession


The case discussed will be in confidence.


Prior to the surgery you will receive a brief proforma to complete on your chosen anonymised child.
Please note: This is not compulsory but is very helpful inform the discussion.


Delegates will be contacted three days before the session with details of how to access the surgery, which will be sent via a link to the email address on your CPD Online account. Please ensure that the email address you have registered with is correct. If it needs changing this can be done via your CPD Online account or please contact the Training Admin Team on 01454 863183. Only the actual delegate booked onto the course will be able to participate and must announce themselves by confirming their name and school in the group chat.

Aims

To support you as a SENCo or a class teacher:


• reappraise a student/child’s needs
• Identify the key barriers/needs of the child
• Raise awareness of the early identification of children who are struggling


This in turn will support SENCos/ classroom teachers to:


• Identify the more subtle/common barrier/s to learning
• provide specific, achievable and manageable strategies to engage the child
• support in the differentiation of classroom resources
