Statutory SEND Processes training.

This training is in 2 parts and is free to all South Gloucestershire SENCOs or any school, college or early years setting that has a South Gloucestershire pupil.

This course is for SENCOs who have completed the taught element of the national award in the past few years initially it will be delivered online with the aspiration for some face-to-face meetings later in the year.

Current school staffing regulations (Keeping Children Safe in Education) require that at least one member of a school interview panel must have completed appropriate safer recruitment training. The session offered provides a refresher on the subject of Safer Recruitment in schools, for those individuals who have already completed an accredited Safer Recruitment training course. Tom Holloway from the Primary Science Trust will lead this session.

We are keen to reconnect our science leaders and make science exciting again in school for both teaching staff and pupils.

This one and a half hour twilight will focus on updates and gives science leaders a place to discuss their own school science. It will also support with the action planning, monitoring and implementation of the science curriculum in your school.

Whether it’s mapping out a teaching sequence; ideas for high quality texts; unpicking a key element of the curriculum or anything else, the time is yours to discuss anything that would be helpful. Come and pick our brains!

When booking, please can you add which year group/s you’re teaching so that the trainer knows in advance. It would be really helpful if you could also note the name of the text/s you’re using too.

This briefing will support all Year 6 teachers in fully understanding the end of KS2 statutory assessment procedures. The briefing will give feedback on the Y6 writing moderation visits from 2022 as well as update teachers on the administration the SATS for reading, maths, and GPS.

The final teacher assessment at the end of KS2 for 2023 also means the continuation of external moderation visits. This twilight is for all year 6 teachers to be make sure they are up to date with the statutory requirements for assessment for 2023.
