This session is aimed at NQTs and RQTs who want to feel more confident when it comes to planning a writing teaching sequence. The first hour will cover long term planning and the teaching sequence for unit plans, with an example. After a coffee break, attendees will be able to use the remaining time to ask questions about planning, their own classes and advice for anything English related!

This year has been a very challenging for all of us and none more so than our NQTS. For many the final phase of their induction has been a very unusual time. It is only over the last few weeks that some of our teachers have returned to the classroom and are resuming some level of normal routine.

In order to support a return to the English curriculum in September, we have written a transition unit to support Year 3 teachers. 

The unit is based on a high quality text and corresponding film, with the intention that it can be used flexibly (both for school or blended learning). The unit includes a formative, slow-writing activity; ideas for reading and discussion; ideas for language work; ideas for grammar teaching; ideas for writing opportunities and a resources section, with various materials to support some of the suggested activities.
