The Getting It Right From The Start series aims to help develop subject knowledge, planning and assessment. Based on feedback and observations from the 2021-22 academic year, this three-part course provides a comprehensive package of support for Year 1 teachers.

This is a 2 session course

This 2 part course takes a look at sensory needs in autism. It is appropriate for any colleague who is interested in autism.


In part 1 we will learn about the eight senses and begin to analyse sensory needs using a questionnaire.


In Part 2 we will return to discuss the questionnaires that you have used to analyse pupil needs and discuss how to develop sensory strategies.

The Complete Maths Planning and Assessment Toolkit for Year 2 Teachers
This is a 3 session course

These 3 online sessions will focus on supporting Year 2 teachers through the year with planning, teaching and assessing both the national curriculum and the teacher assessment framework for maths.


Session 1 will focus on the statutory assessment aspect of maths including the KS1 tests and moderation.
Session 2 will focus on key aspects of Y2 subject knowledge.
Session 3 will support teachers with moderation and planning for gaps.
