This half day course is suitable for all teachers in KS2. The main outcomes for delegates will be an understanding of how to map out grammar skills and plan effectively; an ability to use modelled and shared writing to improve

This one-day course meets the requirements of the HSE syllabus and covers the HSE Recommendations for training of an Appointed Person (the minimum requirement for first aid cover at work. This one day will support anyone new or returning to Y6 teachers. The morning session will focus on writing, the afternoon on maths. Each session will look at key subject knowledge, transition from Y5, end of year assessment and planning for progression.

In this session we will look at the practice of supporting in class. We will discuss key actions that will make their
interactions impactful. The scaffolding framework. The TA standards .In conclusion we will identify future actions and improvements delegates can make.

Course Structure:

• The two day face-to-face preparation course explains the HLTA standards and the HLTA assessment process and fully explains how to put together the required portfolio of evidence. Guidance is provided on completing the required written tasks and explains the purpose and the set-up of the 3 hour school visit.


• Between days 1 and 2, candidates will engage in online activities to check understanding.
