With the importance and value of reading for pleasure currently high on the national agenda, this conference aims to explore how we can create a culture of reading within and beyond schools. It will focus on how we can support children to become life-long, motivated readers, equipped with both the skills they need to access the curriculum and a passion for and love of reading. Delegates will have the opportunity to listen to experts in the field; explore interesting teaching approaches; consider how others have successfully made their schools reading schools and reflect on research.

This meeting will be led by Jo Briscombe, Teaching and Learning Adviser and CPD Lead, Integra Schools, who will present the supportive framework

After the break Carol Bond, Acting HT and SENCo at Elm Park, will report on her experience of the school’s recent Ofsted Inspection.

In recent years schools are finding that they need to consider how they meet the needs of children with
increasingly complex needs. This series of twilight sessions aims to combine specialist knowledge with the practical experiences of schools who have set up types of provision and practices to meet complex needs in
their school.

This series of courses are priced at £30 each. If a deleagte books and attends all six sessions the final session will be free of charge.

The SFVS now comprises a checklist and a dashboard all in one toolkit. The checklist poses twenty-nine questions across seven subject areas:

• School Strategy

This one day session is designed for all staff working directly with autistic pupils, including teachers, teaching assistants and lunchtime staff.

This training will broaden your understanding of autism and provide you with tools and strategies for everyday use in the classroom.

The aim of this interactive session is to support existing Civica users in school to navigate the functions and become familiar with the updated appearance of Civica Financials Web, using your own school log in details.

Although this may seem like a big change, it is the same Civica system – it is only the front ‘User end’ which has changed.

This course will take you through the process steps which may have changed for some things.

Please ensure you come with your school log in and password and Civica log in details.
