In response to the overwhelmingly positive feedback we received last term, we are offering another chance to attend the Year 2 transition unit CPD, which provides support for returning to the English curriculum in term 1.

AET Early Years Programme - Making sense of autism
This is a 2 session course

This course is an introduction to autism. It is most appropriate for colleagues with little or no experience of autism.


This training is suitable for any early years practitioner working in Reception.


Training will be delivered online over two one hour sessions.

Phonics into Early Reading
This is a 1 session course

The first part of this session will support delegates in developing their phonics subject knowledge. It will explore the progression of phonic skills across YR and Y1 and will consider what effective provision looks like in both year groups. The second part of the session, will consider how a ‘phonics first’ approach can support children to become confident and independent readers. It will explore a range of strategies to enable children to read phonically decodable words and will also investigate strategies to support the reading of sight words.
