Subject Knowledge in Year 3
This is a 1 session course

Many teachers will have to spend time in the autumn term addressing learning from the previous year, with which they may be unfamiliar. This session will focus on the key skills in the Year 3 writing curriculum; strategies for teaching these and grammatical subject knowledge.


The session is a must for any teachers new to Year 3, or for those in Year 4 who would like to develop their knowledge and understanding of the Year 3 writing curriculum in order to ensure that planning is pitched appropriately.

AET Early Years Programme - Making sense of autism
This is a 2 session course

This course is an introduction to autism. It is most appropriate for colleagues with little or no experience of autism.


This training is suitable for any early years practitioner working in Nurseries and Pre-School settings.


Training will be delivered online over two one hour sessions.

Phonics Screening Check Briefing for Year 2 Teachers
This is a 1 session course

STA have announced that year 2 pupils will need to receive a past version of the phonics screening check in term 2 as they were unable to do this in Year 1. 


Pupils who meet the standard in the Autumn check will not require any further assessment. Pupils who do not meet the standard will be expected to take the check in June 2021. 


The purpose of this briefing is to outline the phonics screening check process for year 2 teachers who may be unfamiliar with this. It will provide an overview of the national guidance from STA on how to carry out this check.
