This course will support all Year 6 teachers in developing their subject knowledge and expertise in relation to supporting pupils to reach age-related expectations, focusing on grammar, how to teach this in context and on developing composition.

The mentor role is a crucial one for the teaching profession and supporting new teachers is a rewarding activity. Supporting NQTs to improve their teaching requires observation and evaluative feedback. This is not the only way that NQT monitoring can take place. Completing your induction year can be a challenging but very rewarding experience.  We recognise how important it can be to network with other NQTs.   This free surgery will give you the opportunity to share any issues or successes with the NQT adviser.  It will also give you an opportunity to network with other NQTs , share ideas and discuss how your year is going.  

Revising and editing are a key focus within the curriculum. They are also vital skills in supporting children to become reflective writers who take ownership of their writing and are able to improve both its accuracy and quality.
