These two half day sessions will provide support in using the framework to assess writing. Delegates will reflect on what constitutes an appropriate evidence base, will engage with the STA materials and will moderate writing from their own school, identifying gaps and discussing appropriate provision to address these.

The ability to manage difficult child protection, disciplinary allegations is crucial to the provision of safeguarding within the school/academy setting. This course is predominantly classroom based. It will increase your knowledge & understanding of
the basic swimming requirements in a primary school swimming programme and health & safety
aspects in and around the pool area. This course will provide you with help and guidance on how to teach beginners to swim, developing through to the teaching of recognised strokes and water
proficiency. There will be lots of opportunities for Q & A and an opportunity to go poolside and cover teaching techniques.

Developing mastery in maths requires children to have a deep conceptual understanding. This course we explore conceptual understanding of number and how manipulatives play a key part in this process. Delegates will develop skills which enable them to challenge children’s understanding and develop mathematical concepts in the classroom.

Revising and editing are a key focus within the curriculum. They are also vital skills in supporting children to become reflectivewriters who take ownership of their writing and are able to improve both its accuracy and quality. This half day course focuses on key strategies to develop revising and editing processes across the school, with practical ideas that are easy to implement, which if implemented effectively, can significantly improve children’s progress.

The training will focus on how staff can support children with speech, language & communication needs within the classroom and wider school environment

To highlight effective strategies and practical recommendations that SENCos can disseminate and implement easily.

Free resources and refreshments will be provided.
