This half day course is suitable for teachers in KS1 and KS2.
Colleagues will explore a range of strategies to support the teaching of comprehension. The course will help colleagues structure guided or whole class reading sessions, develop text marking and improve higher order questioning.

Past exposure to asbestos currently kills around 4,500 people a year in GB. DfE guidance issued this year for school leaders, staff and governing bodies, emphasised the importance of managing asbestos properly. Failure to do this could put peoples lives in danger and could lead to prosecution. Help protect your health and others by attending this new Asbestos Awareness training course which with understanding the risks associated with asbestos. The Course will be run by Sharon Larkman a highly experienced Asbestos Manager, whose knowledge will be beneficial to who attend.

This meeting is held three times over the year. At each meeting there will be time to ensure that assessment leaders are up to date with the key national and local information including Ofsted and DFE updates, data and assessment. There will be time to work on bespoke aspects as identified by members of the group.

This course explores how the Course Manager functionality of SIMS links areas such as Nova-T, Academic Management and Examinations Organiser, including procedures for supporting the maintenance of Post-16 learning aims. It is particularly aimed at school with post 16 students.

This 3 hour session deepens understanding, including theories of autism. Delegates to have previously attended Good Practice in Autism Education.

These two half days will support teachers in developing their understanding of the y5 maths curriculum. The course will focus on subject knowledge for the strands in the curriculum. There will also be some time to look at assessment.

The first session will focus on subject knowledge for number and calculation, and time will be built in to look at assessment of some of these strands.
