This course is suitable for teachers in primary schools.

This training presents an opportunity to develop science teaching across the primary age range. The session will clarify curriculum expectations, explore how to create a clear teaching sequence for science and also develop ideas for teaching the ‘Working Scientifically’ skills. Part time Teachers workshop
This is a 1 session course

This session is aimed at School Administrators and Headteachers. It will ensure schools apply STP&CD rules in relation to:

  • Calculating contractual hours of part time teachers
  • Calculating non-teaching directed time for part time teachers
  • Requiring part time teachers to attend inset/staff meetings/parents evenings, etc

Essential Information: The charge is £80 per person for those schools subscribing to the HR for Schools and Academies Service, or £110 per person to schools that do not subscribe.

EMTAS Network Meeting
This is a 1 session course

This network is a group of school staff leading Black and Minority Ethnic (BME), English as an Additional Language (EAL) and Gypsy, Roma, Traveller (GRT) support and also leading on inclusive curricula.

The group comes together to share and borrow ideas to improve outcomes for BME/EAL/GRT pupils. The network is facilitated by EMTAS Advisory Teachers who have experience and expertise in this field.

NQTs Twilight: Using evidence to support teacher assessment
This is a 1 session course

This course is for both newly qualified teachers and those that have recently qualified or have returned to teaching after a break. The course is suitable for both Primary AND Secondary staff.

This workshop will look at how to use children’s work to support teacher judgements. It will look at good practice in gathering evidence and the range of sources that can be used to make judgements.

Basic SIMS Reporting for All Schools
This is a 1 session course
The course will cover SIMS Reporting to support day-to-day administration reporting procedures. This course is a full day to allow for plenty of time to practise. Please bring along any memory sticks as any reports you design on the day can be taken away with you and imported into your own SIMS system.
Essential Information: Please bring a memory stick so you can save any reports you design on the day and import them into your school's SIMS .net. This event is free to attend, for the first candidate attending from settings that subscribe to the IMS team's support service. There is a charge for any additional candidates attending the same event.
