The nationally established Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) course trains skilled teaching assistants to deliver interventions for emotionally vulnerable pupils. Trainee ELSAs attend 6 full training days and subsequently carry out supervised practice over the course of the year leading to ELSA certification. Anxiety is one of the top concerns for autistic people, their families, and the professionals who work with them. By listening to the voices of those with lived experience, we were able to create a module that helps others to understand how anxiety can impact on an autistic child’s daily life.
