SIMS Post 16 Census and Learning Hours
This half-day workshop will take users through using Course Manager in SIMS and deal with the new data reporting requirements in the post-16 element of the autumn census. Please note, there will be no hands-on work at this workshop.
The event is aimed at Data Manager and Post 16-Learning Co-ordinators.  Unlike in previous years, there is less need for Exams Officers to attend this workshop.

SIMS Office User - Basic
Some schools rely on just one person in the office to support and administer SIMS, so this course is ideal where your school wishes to spread the expertise or delegate specific processes in SIMS to other colleagues in the school's administration team.

Effective Senior Leadership

This course is designed to support Deputy Headteachers and Assistant Headteachers who are new to the role or those middle leaders who are aspiring to a more senior role. Colleagues will explore strategies to support senior
leadership including collaborative leadership models and understanding leadership styles. This is a three session course with the first two days being full days, followed by a half day so colleagues can build a supportive network moving forward. ELSA - Emotional Literacy for Support Assistants

The nationally established Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) course trains skilled teaching assistants to deliver interventions for emotionally vulnerable pupils. Trainee ELSAs attend 6 full training days and subsequently carry out supervised practice over the course of the year leading to ELSA certification.

The cost for this course is £540 per delegate (which includes six full days training, four subsequent supervision sessions, the published course Handbook and relevant handouts/resources plus basic refreshments (please bring a packed lunch).

SIMS Exams Organiser - External Exams
This course is for exam officers wishing to make the most of the Exams Organiser module in SIMS to manage external exams. This course is for new users or those wishing to consolidate their skills. The software will allow schools to make use of the seating planner in Exams Organiser to manage the effective seating of pupils.

Emergency First Aid

This one-day course meets the requirements of the HSE syllabus and covers the HSE Recommendations for training of an Appointed Person (the minimum requirement for first aid cover at work.) Topics include CPR, dealing with an unconsciousness casualty, choking and Major Bleeding. Time is also given to discussing injuries and ailments common in the workplace, both inside and outside the school. Assessment Manager - Essential Skills
This course is for new users of assessment at secondary phase settings, particularly colleagues who have a role translating the ideas of the school's Data Manager into reality, using Assessment Manager. This course is all about putting policy into action. It will cover all the essential skills in the use of the software and does not dwell on school assessment strategy. This is a two day course.
