The course consists of two separate sessions, am & pm - delegates should attend for the whole day.

The Special Education Needs (SEN) software in SIMS enables the SENCo to manage the recording of all aspects of the SEN process in accordance with the requirements of the code of practice, building on information already held in SIMS such as pupil addresses, contacts and academic information and also enables the recording of the details of external specialists and organisations.

HLTA Training and Accreditation

  • The two day face-to-face preparation course explains the HLTA standards and the HLTA assessment process and fully explains how to put together the required portfolio of evidence. Automating Reports in SIMS using Command Line Reporter (EVENT FULL)

This session is aimed at School Administrators and Headteachers. It will ensure schools apply STP&CD rules in relation to:

  • Calculating non-teaching directed time for part time teachers

In this course, we will look at: Roles and responsibilities of the Mentor/Induction Tutor, NQT and appropriate body. We will look at  Observation, feedback and meeting schedules; Professional review meetings; Assessment procedures, with exemplars of good practice; Use of the teachers' standards: materials to support for action planning, monitoring, evidence collection and assessment; Avoiding and dealing with problems, extensions and reductions to induction.

The last half an hour will be used to review the situation in your school.

Year 2 Moderation Surgeries (EVENT FULL)

These surgeries provide an opportunity for Y2 teachers to discuss any pupils they would like support to assess in reading, writing and maths. Teachers can bring along children’s evidence and work alongside the LA moderator, who will provide advice and guidance.

These sessions are one to one with two places available per time slot, however a school can send 2 teachers on each booking - please note the name of your second delegate in the Booking Requirements section.
