Anaphylactic Awareness Training

From 1st October 2017, schools are able to obtain, without a prescription, an emergency adrenalin auto injector (AAI) device. The spare AAI can be used in an emergency situation on a pupil who’s own prescribed AAI cannot be administered because it is not available or not working.
Schools who hold AAI’s need to ensure that staff have received appropriate training and this 2 hour awareness course will help staff gain a greater understanding of the cause and recognition of an anaphylactic shock along with treatment and management of such a situation.

Understanding Progress Measures for SENCos (EVENT FULL)


This ½ day course will support you in using data to support your role as SENCo.

We will take you through:

  • Using ASP and the IDSR to look at your school’s data, then drill down to see the implications for children with SEND
  • Using statutory for Y2 and Y6 pre-key stage standards
  • Access and testing arrangements
  • Tracking processes for other year groups– questions to ask about your assessment system
  • Measuring small steps from children’s starting points using soft and hard data

NQT - Use of your Voice

This fun course provides voice care and maintenance advice. It will also encourage different classroom appropriate speaking strategies, listening and drama games to explore both voice care and appropriate voice usage with children, helping children to develop confidently in speaking, listening, presentation and performance.

Delivering the Curriculum - Assessment for Learning

Assessment for learning (AFL) is key part to developing successful independent learners who take an active role in their own learning. This session will look at what constitutes effective AFL, learn how to build pupil independence through questioning, probing, pausing, promoting quality talk, effective marking and metacognition skills. With the new national curriculum having a focus on mastery using effective strategies in AFL sits alongside this and will help to develop confident learners that make really good progress.
