Last year, in conjunction with subject leaders, we wrote modified criteria to support writing assessment in non-statutory year groups as part of our Covid support for schools.

In response to requests from a considerable number of schools, we have now revised this so that the statements are fully aligned to the whole curriculum and can be used from 2022 onwards to support writing assessment and moderation. To support teachers, we are running a twilight session to share the rationale behind the criteria and explain how the statements should be used to support accurate assessment. ...

As we return to the national assessment cycle for 2022 then we also return to LA moderation visits in June.

This briefing is for Year 2 teachers and members of SLT whose school has been identified for a KS1 LA moderation visit.
