AET Schools Programme - Making sense of autism

This one and a half hour session is designed for school teams who would like to develop their awareness and understanding of autism.

The course is suitable for SENCos, teachers, teaching assistants lunchtime staff, senior leadership and governors.

The session is suitable for practitioners working with school-age pupils on the autism spectrum in both mainstream and specialist settings.

SIMS Post 16 Census and Learning Hours
This half-day workshop will take users through using Course Manager in SIMS and deal with the new data reporting requirements in the post-16 element of the autumn census. Please note, there will be no hands-on work at this workshop.
The event is aimed at Data Manager and Post 16-Learning Co-ordinators.  Unlike in previous years, there is less need for Exams Officers to attend this workshop.

NQT induction seminar

The NQT year is an exciting but challenging time for new teachers.  This will support NQTs to be successful in their induction year. The seminar will provide all the statutory information about what to expect from the year, share useful resources and proformas to support the induction process. It will also signpost NQTs to professional development opportunities. This is also a great opportunity to network and meet other NQTs in South Gloucestershire and surrounding areas.

ELSA - Emotional Literacy for Support Assistants

The nationally established Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) course trains skilled teaching assistants to deliver interventions for emotionally vulnerable pupils. Trainee ELSAs attend 6 full training days and subsequently carry out supervised practice over the course of the year leading to ELSA certification.

The cost for this course is £540 per delegate (which includes six full days training, four subsequent supervision sessions, the published course Handbook and relevant handouts/resources plus basic refreshments (please bring a packed lunch).
