ELSA - Emotional Literacy for Support Assistants
The Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) programme is based on the Hampshire Educational Psychology Service initiative (Burton & Shotton,2004) aimed at supporting the emotional literacy of children and young people in targeted ways. Maintaining the Timetable in T6/Academic Management
As some of the administrative tasks around maintaining the school timetable vary from the timetabler to the Data support Manager, this course will offer those unfamiliar with T6 the opportunity to work through a number of exercises to support timetable changes during the year.
Combined with this course will be complete coverage of how best to use Academic Management to support the management of pupil class memberships in SIMS.

Numicon Intervention Programme: Addressing gaps in Mathematics
This course is for children in Year 2 and above, who have gaps in their mathematical understanding and would benefit from an intensive programme of support.
The programme is for TAs and teachers. It comprises comprehensive, flexible and varied activities to ensure rapid progress in basic mathematics skills in intervention lessons.
This training is designed for those who will be delivering the programme, usually TAs or SENCOs, with a senior leader strongly advised to attend the first half day session to ensure an understanding of the Numicon approach, transference of skills into the Maths ...
It is recommended that schools send two staff members who will be delivering the actual interventions to ensure a professional dialogue, problem solving, peer support and analysis back in school.
