SIMS Top Tips and Techniques Secondary

This course aims to help administrative staff get the most from their SIMS system in terms of productivity and efficiency. We will look at maintaining a tidy database by removing duplicates. Also covered will be methods of internal communication within SIMS, creation of tailored User Defined Fields as well as other time saving hints like setting up shortcuts within SIMS .net.

1:1 Writing Moderation Surgeries (EVENT FULL)

These surgeries provide an opportunity for Y1-Y6 teachers to discuss any pupils they would like support to assess.  Teachers can bring along children's writing evidence and work alongside the LA Moderator, who will provide advice and guidance. 

Each session is on a 1:1 basis so only one school can book each place but schools may send more than one teacher, although teachers must be from the same year group. Please add the names of any extra delegates into the booking requirements section when making the booking.

Basic SIMS Reporting for All Schools (EVENT FULL)
The course will cover SIMS Reporting to support day-to-day administration reporting procedures. This course is a full day to allow for plenty of time to practise. Please bring along any memory sticks as any reports you design on the day can be taken away with you and imported into your own SIMS system.

Anaphylactic Awareness Training

From 1st October 2017, schools are able to obtain, without a prescription, an emergency adrenalin auto injector (AAI) device. The spare AAI can be used in an emergency situation on a pupil who’s own prescribed AAI cannot be administered because it is not available or not working.
Schools who hold AAI’s need to ensure that staff have received appropriate training and this 2 hour awareness course will help staff gain a greater understanding of the cause and recognition of an anaphylactic shock along with treatment and management of such a situation.
