This course aims to help administrative staff get the most from their SIMS system in terms of productivity and efficiency. We will look at maintaining a tidy database by removing duplicates. Also covered will be methods of internal communication within SIMS, creation of tailored User Defined Fields as well as other time saving hints like setting up shortcuts within SIMS .net.

The Special Education Needs (SEN) software in SIMS enables the SENCo to manage the recording of all aspects of the SEN process in accordance with the requirements of the code of practice, building on information already held in SIMS such as pupil addresses, contacts and academic information and also enables the recording of the details of external specialists and organisations. At least a basic level of SIMS knowledge will be required for delegates attending this course and ideally attendance at the SEN in SIMS .net course
