ELSA - Emotional Literacy Support Assistants

The nationally established Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) course trains skilled teaching assistants to deliver interventions for emotionally vulnerable pupils. Trainee ELSAs attend 6 full training days and subsequently carry out supervised practice over the course of the year leading to ELSA certification. It is also a pre-requisite that ELSA line managers attend a 1 - 2 hour twilight session following Day 1 of the course.
