This training session will focus on how to plan a sequence of lessons for narrative, non-fiction and poetry. Colleagues will be able to apply the sequence to all subsequent units of work across the academic year. Colleagues will also be able to develop a try/use/prove approach to planning. This will support the assessment of writing and build a robust evidence base.

General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) come into force on 25 May 2018 introducing new rules regarding Data Protection of personal data and fines of up to £2m for Schools and Town & Parish Councils who do not comply. This is an essential introduction to GDPR so that you understand the changes in legislation and what actions you need to consider to ensure you are prepared for the change.

All teachers are teachers of SEN. This session aims to support you in understanding your responsibility in implementing the code of practice for pupils with SEN and disability. We will consider, the principles behind the code of practice including:
• Assess, plan, do review
• Person centred planning
• Co-production with parents
• The four areas of need,
• Their presentation,
• Strategies to support and where to go for help.

These are free sessions held 4 times during the year. NQTs can meet with the NQT adviser to discuss any issues they may be having. It is also the opportunity to share resources and ideas and meet other NQT’s. Please bring along anything you would like to share this can be in the form of pictures, documents or just you telling us about them.
